Biography
The Pretty Reckless signed to Interscope with the first name called “The Reckless” but due to some unhappy trademark problems, they changed to “The Pretty Reckless“. They recorded songs with great producers like Kato Khandwala and James Michael (the vocalist of SIXX:A.M.) and Taylor was totally in writing and composing songs. James said: “I gotta tell you…This girl fucking ROCKS! She’s an incredible songwriter and has one of the coolest rock voices I’ve heard. She is insanely talented. That’s all I can tell you right now… but keep an eye out for her and her band PRETTY RECKLESS… you’re gonna be blown away!” The first concert was on May 5, 2009 in New York with former members Secolo (guitar), Matt Chiarelli (bass) and Nick Carbone (drums). After seven concerts, the members were changed by the current ones: Ben Phillips on lead guitar, Mark Damon on bass, and Jamie Perkins on drums (ex-band called “Famous”). The Pretty Reckless’s first album “Light Me Up” was released in August 27th, 2010 only in the UK and reached #6 in the first week of sales at the best sell out albums. Their second single was ‘Miss Nothing’ and it also had a polemic music video which portrayed the Last Supper and also had some epic characters as Charlie Chaplin and Taylor as Mary Magdalene among ten other guys. The video was shot with a Canon 5D MkII dSLR as you can see in the Behind-the-Scenes video at their official VEVO channel. The last single was ‘Just Tonight’ which had also awesome music video. It shows Taylor Momsen beauty in some formal dresses, crying blood and there’s also a girl in the background. Maybe it was the darkest music video they have ever done. Magnificent! Starting 2011, the band are going in tour around USA and Japan. Taylor tweeted about other places they would love touring as South America, Asia, Africa. Being even more famous in the music industry, The Pretty Reckless were invited to play at big music festivals around the world as like Montreux Jazz Festival, Oxegen Festival, Lollapalooza, Download Festival and others. In October 10th, 2011 they start supporting the upcoming ‘Evanescence’ tour around United States, United Kingdom and Germany and later started supporting the ‘Guns ‘N Roses’ tour for three shows around america. Their last tour support was with Marilyn Manson on his north america tour, then they headed to Australia for the ‘Soundwave’ Festival for 5 shows. ‘The Medicine’ tour started on March 9th around American with over 30 shows and will be going to an end in May. The band is promoting their current EP titled “Hit Me Like A Man”, available for digital and physical purchase. Pick up your copy! Last updated: March 17th, 2012. ![]() |
